Baked Oatmeal Cinnamon Dessert

(Serves about 6)

This recipe is as simple as it gets and is so healthy that it could even be a breakfast instead. Just toss together the following in a bowl:

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups oatmeal
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 Tablespoons brown sugar Splenda
  • 1 large Granny Smith apple
  • ¼ cup melted butter or margarine
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts, optional

Directions

Mix ingredients together and pour into a greased 8” by 8” pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.

Top with a dollop of ice cream or whipped cream.
